AMC1350-Q1: Sschematic for single phase

Part Number: AMC1350-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1350

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am planning to use AMC1350-Q1 for Single phase application. Instead of adding a seperate supply with respect to Nuetral, what if i take available supply with respect to Primary ground(Ckt as per below)?

1)Can I use this circuit. (If output is only positive, it is fine for me)

2)What could be bottleneck of this circuit?(Such as, may be output will be only in +2 V range?)

Best Regards,

Homesh

  • Hi Homeshkumar,

Welcome to our e2e forum!  Not sure that I understand your intentions are with the flyback supply, but the AMC1350 has a fully differential output, you can't just short OUTN to ground like that.  If you want the full swing on the output, you can use the circuit shown in Figure 8-3.  You could also leave it floating and just take the OUTP voltage.

  • Ok, thanks.I am getting sample of this IC in next week, Will update you with test results.

Answer to your Question on my intension with flyback -> Circuit given in datasheet figure:8-1 looks like voltage to be measured with respect to neutral(and short the neutral to GND1 of the IC). It is not feasible in single phase circuit to get supply with respect to neutral, if done so, this will impact EMI,EMC performance.

  • Great!  Do let us know how you make out.
