PGA280: Questions on PGA280

Part Number: PGA280

Tool/software:

Can the switch combinations on the input side be used in any way (except the BUG automatically switches the corresponding channels)?

These four combinations, for example, are dynamically switched via register configuration:

When using an internal buffer or when not using an internal buffer

(1)INP1 and INN1 as differential inputs

(2)INP1 and INN2 as differential inputs

INP2 and INN2 as differential input

INP2 and INN1 as differential input

From the register, the switches should all be independently controlled, just don't know if there are any special restrictions.

  • Hello Thomas,

INP1 and INN1 are referenced to one another as they are from the same source and therefore would share the same common-mode. Referencing INP1 to INN2 might introduced some noise if the INN1 and INN2 are very different - would also shift the common-mode of the signal.

Register 6 may be used to control the switches:

    Inputs 7 (reserved) 6 (SW-A1) 5 (SW-A2) 4 (SW-B1) 3 (SW-B2) 2 (SW-C1) 1 (SW-C2) 0 (SW-D12) Hex
    P1 and N1 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 0x60
    P1 and N2 0 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 0x48
    P2 and N2 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0x18
    P2 and N1 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0x38

    All the best,
    Carolina
