TAS6754-Q1: About register 0x7D

Tool/software:

The register 0x7D is status reading register. Bit2 to Bit 5 indicates whether the channels OUTM soft short fault event stored. The question is:

1) is it real time detection ?

2) what's soft fault event? what's the difference between short to power or short to GND and this soft fault event?

3) do we need to configure it or enable it?

Yes.

Soft short means there's some resistance at the shortage point, could up to 3ohm. Will continuously having a shortage current, but not triggering OC.

There's seems no register you could enable/disable it. Only fault report register, which is read only.
