TAS6424-Q1: Idle Temperature

Part Number: TAS6424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424

Tool/software:

I'm working on a project that uses the TAS6424. I have two channels: one is in single-ended mode, and the other is in BTL mode. My question is, is it normal for the heat sink to get hot and reach 42°C with no load? My heat sink is 40x50x15mm.

  • Niccolo,

You cannot operate a channel in Single ended mode.  This audio amplifier must be operated in BTL mode or in PBTL mode.  Correct this and then we can see if the device has a 18 degree temperature rise.
