TAS2505-Q1: TAS2505-Q1 Shutdown due to overcurrent

Part Number: TAS2505-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS2505

Tool/software:

Hello,

For TAS2505-Q1, according to the information in the EvalKit PDF, when a short-to-GND condition occurs, it is not recommended to repeat the reset process more than three times. Otherwise, it is stated that the device may be damaged due to excessive temperature.

In this case, what we would like to understand is: at what intervals should these resets be performed? For example, a short-to-GND occurs, Page1 R45 D1 is reset, the fault occurs again and is reset again, then the fault occurs once more and we reset it again. We are currently doing this at 500 ms periodic intervals. On the third occurrence of the fault, should we stop resetting and put the system into a protective state and wait?

When we read the Page1 R45 D1 bit, should we directly interpret it as a short-to-GND condition?
