TL062: TL062I

Part Number: TL062

Tool/software:

We use TI's part number TL062i in many of our products.  We recently introduced a new product using this same chip and came across a noise problem.  After further investigation we found TI had changed the noise spec on the input back in 2023.  We were not notified of this change.  Doesn't TI issue PCN's when making any changes to their products?

In this case your part number TL082i has resolved the issue on the new product we just released to production.

Engineering needs clarification why the spec change was not released to your customer's.

Thanks,

Cindy Hartley

  • Hi Cindy,

Engineering needs clarification why the spec change was not released to your customer's.

PCN was issued in TL062 back in July, 2023. The issues you observed that may be related to post-PCN TL062,

The TL082i has also issued PCN for the FAB change. The post-PCN is issued after March, 2023. I do not know if you used pre-PCN or post-PCN product. You can tell from the date code, 45 followed by a letter as an example, where 45 indicated that part is manufactured in May, 2024. The date code before the FAB change will likely before and around March, 2023.

Please let us know if we answered your query. If you have other questions, please let me know.

  • How are TI's PCN's issued since we did not get the ones showing here.

  • Hi Cindy,

The PCN is typically sent to all TI customers. I do not have the details when, how and where these PCNs are sent. However, the documents should be sent around PCN date, there should be up to 30-90 days before the change affects shipments. For instance, these PCNs are sent to TI distributors, so are all TI customers via direct email or portal notification.

We are application supporting team, and does not have the visibility in the part of process. It is handled by different team at TI.

If you have other questions, please let us know.

    Best,

    Raymond
