INA303-Q1: Facing issues in latch mode.

Part Number: INA303-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA303

Tool/software:

Dear Texas Instruments Support Team,

I am using the INA303 as a window comparator in a BMS application to monitor current sensing and short-circuit detection.

We are facing an issue in latch mode:

  • The ALERT signal does not trigger when LIMIT1 and LIMIT2 exceed their preset values.

  • On the same hardware, the ALERT triggers correctly in transparent mode with the same LIMIT1 and LIMIT2 settings.

I have attached the schematic for your reference. Could you please review and help us resolve this issue?

Looking forward to your guidance.

Latch_RESET internally pull-up through MCU.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

    I have some follow-up questions:

    1. What are the desired trip levels of current?
    2. Can you provide the shunt resistor so I can calculate the trip currents?
    3. Can you also provide the variant of the INA303 so that I can calculate the error based on the series resistors connected to the inputs?
    4. I would also like any oscilloscope captures that you have collected.

Thank you in advance for the clarification,

    Joe
