LM339B: LT Spice model not reflecting the Vicr specified on datasheet

Part Number: LM339B

Tool/software:

Hi team,

When using the LT Spice model of LM339B with one of the inputs outside of the Vcm range, the simulation is not outputting a clear ON nor OFF, but is outputting some voltage between low and high. Datasheet 8.2.2.1 specifies that even if one of the inputs are outside of the common mode range, the device would function as it should.

Use case;

  • IN+: reference voltage (within Vcm range)
  • IN-: low (0V) or high (Vcc)
  • Spice model output: neither low nor high

Is the LT Spice model incorrect, or is the datasheet incorrect?

Similar explanation is written on 6.7 Electrical Characteristics of LM339B.

Best,

Yu
