OPA2333-Q1: OPA2333AQDGKRQ1 — Notes about the PowerPAD in the package outline

Part Number: OPA2333-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,
We’re working with the OPA2333AQDGKRQ1. The mechanical drawing references a PowerPAD marking, but the EXAMPLE BOARD LAYOUT doesn’t show any corresponding pad, instead there’s note 9: “Size of metal pad may vary due to creepage requirement.” Does this package actually include an exposed pad, or is the PowerPAD note an error that we can ignore? Please advise.

  • Hello Anand,

This device does NOT have a power-pad. A micropower op-amp should never get hot enough to require one.

The mention of the "powerpad" is a boilerplate trademark. That first page can also used for devices that do have a power-pad.

The "Note 9" comment refers to the pin pads - in that high voltage devices may have different pad widths due to the copper-to-copper spacing required for "creepage" (arc-over). That spacing is at the customers discretion.
