UCC28780EVM-002: How can i change the output power from 45w to 65w?

I’m testing the UCC28780EVM-002 and have two questions:

1. The EVM is rated for 45 W output. Is it possible to modify the external circuitry to achieve around 65 W output power?

2. Is it possible to measure the magnetizing inductor current waveform? If so, how can it be measured?

Hello Zhang,

Yes, you can definitely increase the power output. The power output will mainly be depended on the power stage design (Ex. inductor and capacitor value). You can use the Power Stage Designer for help: https://www.ti.com/tool/POWERSTAGE-DESIGNER

Yes, you can use a current probe to measure the current across the inductor. You will need to provide a way to access the current at that inductor. If your PCB does not allow that, then you will need to remove your inductor and provide a way to put blue wires in parallel to measure the current.
