AMP-PDK-EVM: OPA827AID Daughter board - Cannot get response with 101x Gain

Part Number: AMP-PDK-EVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am testing the AMP-PDK-EVM, with the SOIC-8 daughter board, I have a OPA827AID. When I test the voltage buffer, I am able to replicate the signal. But the 101x or the 1001x gain doesn't seem to work as needed. I have a dual channel power supply, in which I am shorting the two terminals (+ of one and - of the another), creating my V+, V- and Gnd. I checked if this is fine, with a multimeter and all good. Giving a 12Vpp power. Rest apart, if should be just a simple connection, where I provide a 1KHz, 200mVpp Sine wave as an input, expecting a 20Vpp in the 100x gain. Attaching some images of the connection. Not sure where I am making a mistake.

I just get noise in the output. Any help would be better.

Regards

Ram.

  • Hi Ram,

Are you saying that your supplies are set to 12Vpp? If so, then trying to have an output signal of 20Vpp violates the linear operating mode. Can you try increasing your supplies to +/- 18V? This should allow enough headroom for the output to swing 20Vpp.

    Best,
    Carrie
