Hello TI Team,

I purchased the LMP8602MAEVAL board for current monitoring in a PXI analog card.

My setup includes a 20 mΩ shunt resistor, with 15 V applied from a power supply. The load draws 1 A, resulting in a 20 mV voltage drop across the shunt.

I want to amplify this small voltage using the EVM to make it readable by my PXI ADC.

I also have an INA200 EVM available.

Could you please confirm if any modifications are needed to the EVM circuit to support this setup?
Also, which EVM would be more suitable for accurate current monitoring in this application?

Hi Shivaraj ,

Your setup seems fine, you should see an amplified signal of ~ 1V on the output.

This would depend on your requirements:
1. How much accuracy are you looking for?
2. What gain factor do you need?

Between the INA200EVM and the LMP8602EVM, the INA200 has a smaller gain (20) than the LMP8206 (50), so it depends on the sensing range of your ADC.
