LMP8646: Can be used with TPSM8287A12?

Hello team,

Is it possible to use LMP8646 to limit the IOUT of TPSM8287A12?
TPSM8287A12 doen't use external voltage divider, but connect VOUT directly to VOSNS pin.
TPSM8287A12 will set the VOUT = internal VREF.

Customer use case

  • VIN: 5V
  • VOUT: 0.6V to 2.5V
  • Current limit: 7.2A

    Hello Kei,

    I think it could work but there are a couple on concerns.  The TPSM8287Axx does not have a model to simulate to confirm the operation.  The LMP8646 has very bad offset and CMRR between -2V and 2V range and larger IQ current at those lower voltages.  Also you would need to add some resistance between the sensing an the VOSNS as just connecting the Vout pin to VOSNS would overpower the LMP8646.  Any IB into VOSNS will cause an additional error.
