Hi TI Expert,

I currently have a circuit configured as:
Hall Current Sensor → LMH6612 → ADC → FPGA.

I need to expand this design to support multiple current sensor channels while sharing the same LMH6612 and ADC.

Would it be a good approach to connect multiple sensors to a CD4052 multiplexer, and then route the output of the CD4052 to the LMH6612 and ADC?

  • Yes, you can use an analog multiplexer for this.

    As far as I can see, you have signals between 0 V and 5 V, so you can use a mux with a smaller supply voltage range.

    Please note that the multiplexer has a certain resistance, which is not constant over the input voltage range. It might be a better idea to use a mux with a very low on-resistance, e.g., TMUX1209 or TMUX1109.
