  • Hello Madi,

The OPA858 and OPA657 are both already available in a bare die format.  Please let me know if you have any questions about those devices.

The OPA814 / OPA817 / OPA818 do not have availability in a bare die format.  Would you want to discuss project size & volumes so I can understand the project opportunity in greater detail?

If you would prefer to connect offline on this topic, we may do so if you accept my pending friend request on e2e.

I will also point out the OPA858 is sold as bare die in tape & reel, which is an important distinction compared to whole or partial wafer sales and gel/waffle pack sales for semiconductor die.

I look forward to learning more about your project needs.

    Best,

    Alec

    Madi

  • Hello Madi,

I will await your update.  I am doing well, I hope you are also doing well.

OPA858 bare die is available in die in tape & reel

OPA657 bare die is available in waffle pack, in two set quantities.

Are you, Micross, the end- customer who is using the die products or is there another customer involved in consideration?

    Best,

    Alec

  • Thank you Alec,

    End customer is

    MPI for Nuclear Physics
    Saupfercheckweg 1
    69117 Heidelberg

  • Hi Alec,

I have OPA657TD1 on my pricelist

MOQ is 3888pcs  - would this be tape & reel?

    Best regards

    Madi

  • Hello Madi,

Thank you for the follow-up information.

The OPA657-DIE is only available in the waffle pack at this time, which is either a quantity of 120 die or 324 die.

Does the customer need 3888 units?  I understand they may need a much larger number of units than a single 324 qty waffle pack.

    Best,

    Alec

  • Hi Alec,

Thank you - No the 3888pcs came from the TI pricelist I have

    OPA657TD1 - $11.522 MOQ 3888PCS

Customer is looking for 100pcs  - 1000pcs - would these be the same price please?

    Best regards

    Madi

  • Hello Madi,

The 1ku price on the web matches your MOQ price at 3888PCS.  The 120qty and 324qty waffle packs share the same 1ku price.

For 1000pcs order you could do 2x 324qty waffle packs for 648 die, and 3x 120qty waffle packs for 360 die, the resulting total would be 1008qty of die, which is quite close.

Let me know if the customer is considering the waffle-pack amounts or if they have other requests.

    Best,

    Alec

  • Thank you Alec, Much appreciated :)

  • Hi Alec,

    Sorry me again!

Customer has asked about how long the OPA657 will be offered in die form?

If no fixed timescales, any plans to obsolete?

    Best regards

    Madi

  • Hello Madi,

Good question: TI does not 'obsolete' devices and works to supply active customers with the parts they require.  I am attaching a link to TI's policy on obsolescence.  By needing the OPA657-DIE, the customer is satisfying one of the 'any of these three are true' statements in the TI policy.

Please let me know of any additional questions Slight smile.
