ISO122 Question about Output Voltage Range and Nonlinearity

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO122, ISO124

Hello,

I'd like to confirm about Output Voltage Range and Nonlinearity on ISO122JU.

Q1.  Does ISO122 work on +/-2V Output Voltage? (Vin=+/-2V, Vout=+/-2V)

Q2.  In case of +/-2V Output Voltage, is Nonlinearity +/-0.050%FSR_Max applicable?

Best Regards,

  • Hide,

The ISO122 is specified and production tested under the conditions listed in the data sheet.

Based on the nature of its operation, nonlinearity will very likely remain within its specified range with a +/-2V signal range. Noise will become a larger percentage of the signal with a narrower signal voltage range so a greater amount of filtering or averaging may be required.

What power supply voltage do you intend to use? Specifications and testing of the ISO122 is at +/-15V. Operation with low power supply voltage may influence nonlinearity performance.

You may want to consider ISO124, a very similar device specified for somewhat better nonlinearity.

    Regards, Bruce.

  • Bruce,

    Thanks for the kindly explanation.

I understood power supply voltage is too low(Input Vs=+/-8V, Output Vs=+/-10V) to meet nonlinearity specification.

Your explanation is very helpful for me.

    Thanks again for your time.
