LM139AQML: LM139J/883B Life Cycle status

Part Number: LM139AQML
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM139, LM139A

My company has a legacy BOM with original part LM139J/883B. I got a cross-reference which is LM139J/883. For this,I need to justify presenting a comparison to my company with the original.

Can I get the datasheet where suffix "B" is also present after 883 in the ordering information to have my justification ready or any testament would also work.

Greatly appreciate support on this please.

Regards,

Saurabh Kumar Sharma

  • Hello Saurabh,

We no longer have the LM139J/883B orderable, so we cannot place it on a datasheet.

The "B" is the old way MIL-883 Rev B devices were designated. The requirements to add the rev letter were dropped many, many years ago (in the 90's).

The LM139J/883 is listed in the last page of the "Package Option Addendum". Devices covered by this datasheet are listed in the table.

The LM139J/883 is a QML Q device and replaces the "B" device.

  • Hello Paul,

    Thanks for your support.

Following LM139AQML/LM139QML datasheet which says last updated on 10/2025, I have some observations which I believe are errata as highlighted in below images -

Page 4 of the datasheet -

Page 5 of the datasheet -

    Advise please.

  • Hello Saurabh,

The "LM133" is a typo during the NSC to TI conversion. It should be "LM139 883".

We are updating the LM139 datasheet and that was the first obvious thing we corrected.

There were some other issues when the datasheet was converted from the "National" to "TI" format.

The original National datasheet specified 100nA MAX, 25nA typ at 25°C input bias current for the LM139A, and 300nA Max over the full temp range. This is another conversion error.

The RL>=15k is also mentioned in the original NSC datasheet. So that is correct.

Thank you for bringing up these discontinuities. I will correct in the next revision. The overall LM139A specs have not changed...just errors in the datasheet conversion process.
