Hello,

What is the min resistance in series that can be added to IN+ and IN- pins ?

Can we directly apply input signal to IN+ and IN- pins without series resistor? Or how much should be the current limiting resistor value?

    Hello,

    The Abs Max is 10mA.

    See section 6.4.3.3 and 6.4.4 in the datasheet.

    We recommend keeping the current to 1mA or less.

    5V/1mA = 5k minimum.

    If this is occurring during normal operation, then we recommend adding external protection (Shottky) and not rely on the ESD diodes as a clamp.

    Note that the Snapback ESD devices are edge activated and will NOT clamp DC like a Zener. So the inputs could be pulled above the supply. The positive direction will require external clamping (Zener or a diode to V+) if the input voltage could exceed 6V.
