AMC0330S: Linear Input Range is not Enough

Hi Team,

Currently, we used AMC0330s to compete with NSI1312s, but compititor's linear input range is -1.2~1.2V, as TI's device is -1V~1V. Customer prefer to NSI1312s.

Do we have such device like NSI1312s? I don't find it on ti.com. If not, how we close this issue, customer has designed their circuit with -1.2V~1.2V input signal. Thanks in advance.

Hi Francis,

Can you please clarify from the customer why they prefer the 1.2V input voltage range compared to 1V input voltage range?

This can be accounted for by simply adjusted the sensing resistor value.

Hi Alexander,

Their back-end is the ADC of DSP, which input range is 3.3V, based on 1:1 gain, customer prefers to 1.2V range than 1V range for better accuracy.

And they can accept 1.2~1.5V range low accuracy, for fully use DSP ADC range. Why we decide to build 1.2V range for AMC0330S?

Hi Francis,

Have you proposed AMC0330R with scalable output gain? This could be an option.

Alternatively, I can help to provide an accuracy comparison between the two products to show quantify the accuracy impact of not using the FSR of the DSP ADC and the performance of the products themselves.

I can't go into deeper details on this decision on the public forum.

Hi Alexander,

Seems this is a better solution than NSI, from my understanding, output range is 0~Vref, right? Within Clipping condition. But it is not p2p with NSI device. Please let me check with customer firstly.

Hi Alexander,

Customer cannot accept AMC0330R as it is not drop-in with NSI1312S.

Can we do a version of +-1.2V input range device?
