TAS6424-Q1: TAS6424 Integration

Part Number: TAS6424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424, TAS6424MS

Hi Team,

Iam trying to integrate the TAS6424 audio codec. The sound card is also registered. Iam using the tas6424.c driver from the kernel. Whenever I try to play, the log appears as "Experienced a VDD POR Condition". Iam unable to hear the audio output as well. Kindly help me here.

  • Hi

VDD POR is not a fault, also won't block IC into PLAY mode. It only tells you that DVDD re-power happened, and the register value goes back to the default.

Iam unable to hear the audio output as well.

Please firstly use oscilloscope to check the IC's OUT pin, see if there's PWM waveform on it.

  • I checked the waeform, MCLK, BCLK,LRCK and SDATA seems to fine, still no audio output. This is my i2cdump when playing the audio. Kindly help me here

  • Hi Kokila,

Have you been able to check if the IC's OUT pin is switching?

Can you confirm what audio input format you're using? Is it TDM8 at 48kHz? If so, please try setting Reg0x03 bit<2-0> INPUT FORMAT to DSP mode.

From Reg0x0F it looks like all channels are currently still in Hi-Z mode, even though in Reg0x4 it looks like you've tried to set it to PLAY. Can you write "00" to Reg0x4 again after verifying there's no faults?

    Elise
