OPA4192: Design Inquiry

Part Number: OPA4192

Hi Team,

I'm planning to use the 4 channel amplifier OPA4192IPWR.

For the unused channel inputs and output can be left floated or any termination required.

Regards,

Abhishek

  • Hi Abhishek,

If the customer is not wanting to use all channels of the device, we recommend putting the amp in a buffer. Below is an example of how to configure the unused op amp in a single supply configuration. It is configured as a voltage follower, and the resistors are configured to ensure Vin is within the common mode range, and Vout is not limited by output swing.

A similar configuration is also shown for dual supply.  Note that the non-inverting node is grounded to set the voltage to mid-supply.

Overall, best practice is to put the amplifier if a known state when possible. Leaving the unused amplifier pins floating puts them into an unknown state. Please also refer to this application note for more details. Please let me if you have any questions.

     Best regards,
    Carrie
