LM7171: Spice Model is wrong

Hello Experts,

The Spice Model for LM7171 is wrong. The simulaor cannot run with this model. Can you please revise the simulation model.

Here is the error which I found.

The pin does not match between spice model and the datasheet.

Before, the spice simulator does not run with the model. In this morning, I redownload the file. It can run the simulation. Now, the major issue is the mismatch between the pin and the datasheet.

Maybe one more, the open loop transfer function from the simulation does not match with the result shown in the datasheet.

Hi Weihao,

Can you reattach the images. I am not seeing them on my side so it is hard to know what issues you are referring to. I can look at the Aol on my side and see how different the sim is from the datasheet.

Hi Weihao,

Thanks for providing the images. I was able to get similar results to the AOL plot you attached. The results shown in the current model stem from the older version of this device as the device was redesigned on a newer process. The model was captured with the old design's performance. This is a model that is in our queue to redesign.

Hello Ignacio,

Currently, we would need the op-amp in one project. But the information from the datasheet is not sufficient. Maybe two more questions regarding the AOL in the datasheet.

How did you measure the AOL?

How the op-amp is configured?

Hi Weihao,

Aol across frequency is captured in simulation. This is done with design software during the development phase of the device. The op amp is configured in a standard configuration, and the designer uses a meter to get this information. This is different than how we setup simulations in our simulations with inductors and capacitors.
