TLV3801: Test Probe Concerns

Part Number: TLV3801

MPN TLV3801DSGT (IC COMPARATOR 1 GEN PUR 8WSON) is resulting in a 40% failure rate after being manually probed during the test, per our procedure.
The rate used to be around 5% in recent builds.
Two were used, on our board, per channel.
In these recent events, usually only one of the two is faling but since they both share same input, we replace both when the failure occurs.
However, we noticed that using different testing probe brand, than Keysight's, may have shown way less failure as we use them!!
  • You do not show any schematic of your application, so it is difficult to provide you with exact guidance how to minimize the failure rate.  However, it is advisable NOT to place the probe directly at the IC pins but instead add a series input resistor to the probe.
