LMH6518DESIGN-CALC: LMH6554 simulation issue

Part Number: LMH6518DESIGN-CALC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH6554, TINA-TI

Hello, I would like to inquire about the project requirement: converting a 1.85Gbps LVDS signal (amplitude 350mV, Vcm 1.2V) into a signal with amplitude 350mV and Vcm 0.3~0.7V. Using LMH6554 IC and setting Vcm=0.5V, the simulation results show that VM1's VID is only 8mV, while VM2 and VM3's VCM are only 0.1V;
The waveform output is only satisfactory when the Vcm is adjusted above 2.5V, but this no longer meets the requirement of Vcm being within 0.3~0.7V. Could you please explain what's happening? The attached .TSC file is a Tina-TI simulation file. Thank you!  VCM_input_LMH6554_ADC_Driving.TSC

  • Hi Liang,

    Welcome to e2e! Sorry for the delay in response.

    The LMH6554 requires 1.2V headroom from each supply rail for both the input and output signals. Is the power supply you are using really single supply 1V?

    All the best,
    Carolina
