Part Number: INA231

Hi,

Would you please review below INA231 schematic? thanks!

  • Jeff,

Thanks for the question and using the E2E forum.

In general I don't see any glaring issues with the schematic. Just a couple of comments.

    • Your pullups are all 1kΩ, generally we recommend 10kΩ
    • The pullups you have on A0 and A1 aren't necessarily required and the pins could be tied directly to VCCGQ_3V3
    • I can't comment on the sizing of your 5mΩ shunt without knowing what your maximum expected measured current will be, but the 5mΩ would measure about 16A at full-scale (INA231 maximum shunt voltage input = 81.92mV), so make sure it's sized appropriately for the power (2W)
    • If you're intending to use the ALERT pin functionality, it's an open-drain so you'll want to tie that to VCCGQ_3V3 with a pullup

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Hi Louis,

    • We will evaluate whether to change the pull-up resistor value to 10 kΩ.
    • We have reserved this option for future use.
    • We will pay attention to the power(2W).
    • We have a pull-up resistor connected to VCCGQ_3V3 (R15).

    Thanks!

    Jeff
