In the TPA2038D1 datasheet, the typical output power is specified as Po = 1.8 W under the conditions of VDD = 5 V, THD+N = 10%, f = 1 kHz, and RL = 8R
Based on my understanding, for an ideal BTL Class-D amplifier powered by 5 V, the theoretical maximum output power should be:
PO=VDD^2/RL=1.56W
However, this calculated value is lower than the 1.8 W specified in the datasheet.
Could you please help me understand why the datasheet specifies a higher output power than the theoretical calculation? Am I missing any assumptions or calculation details?
