TMS320F28P650SH: CBC overcurrent protection

Hi,

In the development and application of the 28P650, we plan to implement 18-phase interleaved parallel arm control. With 11 internal window comparators and 7 externally built window comparators, we aim to configure CBC overcurrent protection for each arm. However, the internal DC digital comparators only allow configuration of 17 CBC protection channels, covering tripin1 to tripin12, tripin14, tripin15, along with tz1, tz2, and tz3. Please inquire with the manufacturer whether this limitation exists

Yes, the limit is 17 independently routable user-defined fault signals, not 17 CBC-protected PWM modules. ePWM Digital Compare supports TRIPIN1–12, TRIPIN14, and TRIPIN15: 14 inputs. TRIPIN13 is reserved.

Is there any other way to implement CBC protection for the 18th independent fault signal input from the outside to epwm18? Does the f29h850 support the input of the 18th or more independent fault signals from external sources?

You can consider using diode emulation CBC latch and DEACTCTL to force EPWM18A/B to safe states.
