XTR111: Thermal Resistor

Part Number: XTR111

Hello Team,

Two questions here.

  1. Is that the 57.7 of R_theta_JA correct? Why it's smaller than R_theta_JC(Top) of 83.8?
  2. Since customer using the thermal simulation tool to evaluate the device thermal, it requires to input R_theta_JC and R_theta_JB. Are they 83.8 and 29.3?

  • Hi Brian,

It is a little confusing. Anytime I see a device with a thermal pad that is to be attached to the PCB, I use the R_theta_JC(bot) as it's going to be the dominating path. I agree that the top side number is weird being so high but it's not the value that matters for either of these packages.

In conclusion, the customer should look at the R_theta_JC(bot) and R_theta_JB for their thermal simulation tool.

    Best Regards,

    Robert Clifton
