THS4521: Technical support

Part Number: THS4521
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH6550, LMH6553, THS4541

Hello

I am looking for minimum of 500MHz product gain bandwidth part which is having the same pin configuration as part # THS4521IDGKR.

Thanks

Yerris C

  • Hi Yerris,

Unfortunately, there is no part that has the same package as the THS4521IDGKR while maintaining a GBW of 500MHz or above. However, the next closest option I would suggest is the LMH6550. This has a package option for VSSOP (DGK), which is very similar to the IDGKR, but it only has a GBW of 400MHz. If you want a minimum of 500MHz or above, I suggest the LMH6553, but this only comes in a HSOIC or WSON package.

  • The part # LMH6550 is having EN pin instead of Shutdown when compared to my original part THS4521IDGKR. Can you comment on it?

  • Hi Yerris,

The 10ns Shutdown/Enable pin in LMH6550 uses the same logic as the PD pin in THS4521IDGKR. The EN pin in LMH6550 floats to logic high, and if this pin is not used it can be left floating. The PD pin follows the same logic. When it is in a logic low, it puts the device into a low-power mode. When it is at logic high, it is open for normal operation. So, in other words, both pins have logic high when the device is on, and logic low when the device is off. Another thing to keep in mind is the power supplies listed in the datasheet for both of these parts.

  • The part # LMH6550 is not a Rail to Rail, is there any suggestion from your side for Rail to Rail parts? if possible suggest -40 to +125 temperature range.

  • Hi Yerris,

A rail-to-rail fully differential amplifier I would suggest is the THS4541 part. It satisfies your spec of 500M Hz or above, and the operating range for temperature is -40 to +125. However, this does not come in a IDGKR package. It's only offered in a VQFN (RGT) or WQFN (RUN). Unfortunately, we don't have any FDAs that meet all of the specifications listed from above, but I hope this still helps! Thanks.
