Quad to BTL??

Hi everyone,

I recently came into the possession of a (Sanyo) LA4645N quad / BTL chip amp.  I figured it would be a good Sunday project to see if I could get it working as a stand-alone amp.  I was able to download the data sheet for the chip but the only version available seems to be incomplete - that is, there are several pages missing.  I wanted to configure the chip in its BTL format but the incomplete data sheet does not show that configuration; it only shows the quad configuration.  I have contacted Sanyo but they simply blow me off saying "the chip is no longer being technically supported".  Thank you Sanyo!!  I can provide the incomplete data sheet if anyone is interested in helping me.  All suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Ramlee.

  • Ramlee,

The audio amplifier E2E forum would be pleased to help you use a Texas Instruments audio power amplifier in BTL mode. I doubt that they would be interested in supporting Sanyo's obsolete product.

    Regards, Bruce.
