Alternatives for OPA111 ?

Hi,

I've searched the forums and saw some topics similar to mine but I'm intereseted only in metal packaged alternatives for OPA111. Actually i'm looking for a better replacement for it which has a lower noise and drift. But  since i'm using this op-amp inside a vacuum chamber (P<10^-10 mbar) it needs to be metal.

  • Husnu,

    I suggest OPA627BM.

Power dissipation may be a problem in a vacuum. It may help to use a heat sink attached to case and thermally coupled to large metal surface. This must be an electrically insulated connection. This will minimize the temperature rise in the IC thus minimizing thermal drift. It would also help to reduce the power supply voltage to the minimum needed for your required input and output voltage range.

    Regards, Bruce.

  • Thank you Bruce,

I've tested your idea but since OPA627BM's Input Bias Current and drift is higher then OPA111 results were not that good.

p.s. My opamp stage is thermally coupled to a heat sink.
