Non contact ECG

Hi

I am trying to design a non conact ECG sensor based on TI medical apps guide info & I am facing a few problems. I have attached TINA file. My transient response seems to be unexpected. I believe the problems are from LPF to 2nd stage amplifier. Appreciated if anybody could help me to rectify the problems or suggestions to improve. 3404.noncontact ECG.TSC

  • Hello Eldos,

We will look into this and get back with you next week.

  • Eldos,

It appears that you did not implement the last suggestion that I provided by email. It appears that R7 should be connected to 1/2V+ not ground.

    Regards, Bruce.

  • Hi Bruce & pete

Thank you for the reply. I am sorry that I missed out that part. I have attached the new file. But now INA seems to be get saturated. Though I tried with different gain values, results still the same.4744.noncontact ECG.TSC

  • Eldos,

The node you just changed is not connected to 2.5V. The name you have used for the connector is slightly different--with no space vs. space in the name. This has caused this node to float, disconnected. The same is true for at least one additional 2.5V connector node in your circuit. You can find this problem yourself.

I found the problem with a simple DC Analysis-Calculate Nodal Voltages, then measured nodes with the probe to see if they were at the expected DC voltages. This is a very basic troubleshooting step that you should routinely perform. Developing your basic troubleshooting techniques will allow you to make much more rapid progress on your circuit.

    Regards, Bruce.
