BPA and DEHP content

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA348

I have a customer asking about BPA and DEHP content in some parts.

OPA348 to be specific.

I assume they are asking about the manufacturing process of these parts.

Does anyone have any information about this?

Thanks

  • Hello,

BPA and DEHP are compounds that may be present in plastics. The OPA348 uses an environmentally green, epoxy for encapsulation. The TI web page provides information about the materials found within the OPA348 package (under OPA348 Quality and Environmental Data):

    http://focus.ti.com/quality/docs/searchbyopn.tsp?templateId=5909&navigationId=11220&orderablePartNo=OPA348AID&pnType=A

It does not list BPA or DEHP, but that may be a level of information that isn't normally disclosed on a web page.

I researched the OPA348 moulding compound by going back to the manufacture's data-sheet. I cannot disclose that information on this forum, but the data-sheet does not list any BPA or DEHP information either. I checked to see if there is an MSDS on line and didn't find one.

If the link I provided doesn't provide enough information we may be able to pose the question to our PA packaging engineering department. The actual composition may be guarded information.

    Regards, Thomas
