Hello,

I have a V to F and F to V inquiry and want to use VFC32/320 to implement.

- Is VFC32 need dual power rail  ? Can it work at single power supply ? ex: +15V .

- VFC32 and VFC320 is performance difference at Linearity accuracy,right ?

    Terry,

    Yes, both the VFC32 and VFC320 require dual (+/-) power supplies. The VFC320 is higher performance and is a different chip design.

    Dear Bruce,

    More questions :

    - VFC320 spec show HIGH LINEARITY: 12 to 14 bits <=Does it mean VFC320 performance(accuracy) can meet 12~14 bit ADC's LSB ?

    - How about the VFC32 accuracy by bits ?

    Terry,

    Yes, when used as an A/D converter it can provide 12 to 14 bit integrated non-linearity performance.

    Terry,

    The basics seem correct.

    Be aware that as the input approaches zero, the frequency approaches zero. The output of the f/v converter will be a series of pulses that have an average value equal to the input voltage. This can be smoothed more by increasing the value of C2 in the f/v converter but at the expense of slow response at higher frequency. For this reason, most v/f > f/v circuits offset the input so that the frequency never goes to zero. A 5kHz to 50kHz range might be appropriate.

    The adjustment circuit injects an offset to tune the offset of the whole system.
