IN330 for low excitation current.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA330

Can IN 330 be used for current (I1) as low as 10 uA? This is to limit the self heating of a low heat dissipating thermistor.

  • Shashi,

I believe the you are referring to the INA330. (The 'A" is missing in your posting.)

Without knowing the details of your application, I doubt that reducing the excitation current to the thermistor would provide an advantage. I think the increase in error contribution from the INA330 would probably outweigh any slight improvement from reduced self heating.

The INA330 is intended as a set-point controller, operating at a fixed temperature. Self heating of the thermistor should be quite constant and result in a small but constant temperature offset.

    Regards, Bruce.
