XTR111 - MOSFET leakage current

Part Number: Manufacturer: On-SemiPart Number:  NTF2955T1G
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR111

Hello

For a very precise 0..20mA current-transmitter I am planning to implement a XTR111 according to figure 47 of the datasheet. In order to fulfill the the hard offset requirements (+/- 2uA !), I am still searching for a matching MOSFET, which would have a low enough leakage-current at a ambient temperature af approx 75o C. Would you possibly be able to recommend a suitable type ?

Thanks and best regards

Jürg

  • Hello Jurg,

I don't know a MOSFET particularly for this application that will meet your requirements, but we recently worked on a reference design for a 0-100mA high-side current source using the P-MOS below:

    Manufacturer: On-Semi
    Part Number:  NTF2955T1G

We achieved nA offsets at the zero-scale level (0mA) over the measured temperature range from 0 - 60C.   I don't think the additional 15C would push the leakage current orders of magnitude higher but you will have to test.

Also, the application was for a low-voltage system and as a result the Vds of the FET is only 60V which may not be high enough for your industrial application.
