PGA280 switching noise

Considering PGA280 for use with audio-range signals over ~120dB range. Will switching programmable gains produce detectable (i.e. audible) clicks or other artifacts in the output? Is there an eval board available?

Hello David,

The PGA280 was not designed for audio applications and does not have zero-crossing detection to prevent clicks/pops when switching between gains. I would strongly recommend one of our volume control products instead, such as the PGA2311, in order to achieve the best audio performance.

There is currently no standalone EVM for the PGA280, but it is included in the ADS1259PDK.
