OPA2673 Spice File

im working on a Power Line Transceiver based on the OPA2673. I'm using Agilent ADS Suite to design the Device. First i imported the Spice File into my Projekt. After that i wanted to see if the Model can be simulated without errors and warnings. But my simulation showed me the warnings:

 Grounded port in subcircuit will produce  incorrect simulation  results, unless the corresponding pin  is also grounded.

    Resistor `X1.X1.r_u3_u3_r4' is shorted.

    Resistor `X1.X1.r_u3_u3_r1' is shorted.

I have read something about an biasing problem but i don't have much experience in simulation of that big models. Can some one suggest what i have to make better?

  • Hello Markus,

    I think there are some changes to the model required by ADS.  Some of our parts have an ADS model available on the web, but they are mostly RF devices.  I have put in a model request to port the SPICE model into ADS 2009 format.  Is this compatible with your ADS version?  I had to enter a value to get the request moving. 


    In the meantime it may be possible to put in an ideal op amp in ADS for the system modeling.  You can use TINA-TI to model the op amp portion of the circuit.

    thank you for your help and the modified model. I run your new model but the warnings still continue without any chang. Maybe you can me send more information. I have added my mail adress beloe. Do you know how great would be the error when i create a greater Design and the warnings wouldn't be cleaned?

    I don't have any ADS experience.  I think it depends on the warnings whether they would impact the overall system. 

    You may want to contact Agilent with some of these questions.

    I have the same issue using a standard PSpice simulator. It is related to lines 146, 192, 307 and 353 of the file contained in sbom338.zip downloaded today. Obviously both ends of 50 Ohm resistors are connected to the same node, thus have a short circuit. You can remove the spice warning by commenting out these lines. Nevertheless the model makes trouble before entering steady state, because some nodes inside the OPA2673 model do not converge. This could be related to some missing resisitors ...
    Could someone check the model for correctness?

    are there any news about the OPA2673 spice model? At least the file date did not change, thus I assum no. I'm going to use it in a future project, thus I'm wondering, if the converge issue still exists?
