Question INA196

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA196

Hello,

i have a Problem with a ina196.

My measurements show that this must be a 100V/V (for example a 198) instead 20V/V Type.

The Part show's the Sign

|           -  -

|     B J E

|        -    -

Can anyone affirm this assumption ?

Thanks for your response.

  • Hi Olaf,

    that seems odd, please reply with a photo of the topside marking and your measurements showing G = 100... It should be G = 20 for BJE.

  • Hello Ed,

    thanks for your answer.

    Then must be the Part faulty...

    I measure

    IL=0,181A, Ushunt = 0,214V -> Uout = 16,68V|UB=18V, Uout=12V|UB=12V, Rshunt~1Ohm

    IL=0,011A, Ushunt = 0,012V -> Uout = 9,17V|UB=12V, RShut~1 Ohm

    ----------------------

    Min Us -> Uout -> UB  -> Gain (xxx).

    -----------------------

    Doku Gain Plot (Figure 3)

    I take a other Part, or have you a brilliant idea?

    Best regards,

    Olaf Huss

  • Hi Olaf,

    Thank you for sending your data...indeed it does not make sense...have you tried replacing the part that is not working correctly with a different device?  Or retouching the solder connections to ensure the ground pin is connected properly?

    If you replace the part with a new part and the problem remains then perhaps there is a PCB layout error, or schematic type of error...but in the absence of those types of errors the part is likely defective or damaged.  Can you send a schematic and snap shot of your PCB layout to my email address?

    Please reply to my email address and I will send you instructions for returning the device for testing and failure analysis.
