power opamp

hello there,

i m searching for a power opamp and i found LM12. it is best to use in my project....but it is obsolete so please suggest me an ic which has more or less the same configuration as that of LM12.

Hello Jay-san,

LM12 is already obsoleted but we have companion device in Power Audio amp utilising same archtecture with LM12 calling SPike protection. LM3886T was modified from LM12 for Audio power amp application. If you need more output current, you may use LM3886T in parallel connection. LM3886T is not unity gain stable amplifier though with some configuration, you can make unity gain configuration. I can tell you the cinfiuguration if you need. Please check LM3886T and if this device meet your requirement, we can talk in more detail.

Hi,

Listed devices are not exactly same though can be replaceable with some modification and depending on load condition. One of big feature of LM12 is device protection archtecture names Spike protection. Please reffere attached URL about Spike protection.1440.AN-898(Spike Protection).pdf. LM3886 and LM3876 take the same archtecture as LM12. This very robust protection way compare with usual SOA protection.
