XTR108EVM-USB how to set OS/US Limiting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR108EVM-USB

Hi,

My customer is testing the XTR108EVM-USB.

They want to change OS/US Limiting as Tutorial on P32.

http://www.tij.co.jp/jp/lit/ug/sbou123/sbou123.pdf

They changed OS/US Limiting into "enable", although the value of current didn't change.

What would be considered as the reason that the value of current didn't change?

Thanks and Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hello Kuramochi-san,

Our XTR Applications Engineer has been on holiday this week and will return on Monday. I will direct your inquiry to him.

  • Thomas-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

I wait contact by the engineer.

  • Hello Kuramochi-san,

The over-scale and under-scale limits will only change the output level if the output level is outside of the programmed limit.  If the output voltage/current is programed to a value outside of the programmed under/over-scale limits then the output level will be limited to the programmed under/over-scale levels.  If the output level is within the under/over-scale limits then the output will not be affected by enabling the under/over-scale feature.

  • Hello Collin-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

Output level is outside of the programmed limit.

    It is 1mA~38mA.

Is there the process to limit except changing into enable?

    Regards,

    Kuramochi

  • Hello Kuramochi-san,

What is the customer programming to  the OS0-OS3 and US0-US2 registers that control the value of the Vo/Io OS/US thresholds?

Based on the values programmed to the OS/US registers ask the customer to then try to exceed the programmed levels by increasing the input signal and/or gain to cause the output level to exceed the thresholds programmed in the levels.  When enabled, the OS/US functions should prevent the output from exceeding the programmed OS/US levels.
