Import Spice Models into TINA-TI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA378, TINA-TI

I have a new model for the OPA378 that was snet to me (OPA378.txt) and one I downloaded from TI (opay378_tina-ti_spice_model.tsm).

?). Which one should I use.

?). Where/what directory does it go under in TINA-TI to show up in "Spice Macros" modle tab.

Thx,

  • Hello Bruce,

The OPA378.txt file is a PSpice syntax listing intended for customers who use some variation of PSpice other than TINA Spice; Cadence Spice, LT SPice, etc. This option is provided because of the wide of variety of simulators available. Its use requires the user to create the model and symbol files unique to their particular simulation software. This isn't necessarily difficult; you just have to learn how to do it.

The OPA378.TSM (Tina Simulation Model) file listed on the OPA378 web-page is the complete simulation model for TINA-TI Spice. The easiest way to obtain and use the model is to access the OPA378 Test Circuit.TSC (Tina Simulation Circuit) file and the model will be exhibited in the TINA simulator. Clicking on this file should open you TINA simulation program. You can work with the circuit I created, or simply copy and paste the OPA378 schematic symbol into a new page and build your own circuit.

The Spice macro listing gets updated with new revisions. There is an updater feature that is being incorporated in the next revision of TINA-TI. For now, the quickest way to get a listing and the available simulation models is to use this TI resource:

This page is maintained and updated by the HPA Tools group and is the most complete resource I've found.
