Something wrong in the ADS1158 datasheet

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: REF5025, ADS1158, REF5040, ADS1258

On page 42, Figure 54 of the ADS1158 DS

  • Hi user4209155,

    Thanks for pointing that out!

I believe the ADS1258 datasheet had it correct, but when the ADS1158 was released we had also come out with the higher performance REF50xx. The figure was changed to recommend the REF5040; however, the text did not get corrected (The REF5025 is the 2.5V output reference, while REF5040 is 4.096V output).

Any of these references should be fine with the 16-bit ADS1158!
(For the 24-bit ADS1258, I would definitely recommend using the REF50xx because of the better noise and drift specifications).

    Best Regards,
    Chris
