Hello, all

Now we have some inquiries regarding usage of DOUT functionality on PGA308 from our customer.

Please refer to the items below, and feedback us with your comment.

When referring page 95 of "PGA308 User’s Guide", we could understand that this functionality is controlled by DOUT bit (D7) in the CFG2 register.

However, we could not fully understand this functionality.

Please let us clarify;

1) whether we need to take into any consideration if trying to change DOUT bit (D7) in the CFG2 register over the One-Wire interface dynamically when operating this device.

2) what usage is aimed for Dout functionality.

If the Dout sel bit in the CFG2 register is set to 1, then the Dout/Vclamp pin acts as a simple push-pull digital output pin that can be set high or low by the DOUT bit in CFG2. There are no special considerations for changing the value of this bit while the device is operating. You may want to set the initial desired state into OTP memory so it comes up in a known state at power-on, and then the value can be changed dynamically.

Talking to the original definer of the part, the DOUT pin was intended to be able to control an external analog switch so that the same module could be used as a voltage output or a current output.
