Using 3-wire PT100 with XTR115

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR117, XTR115, XTR105

I'm considering using PT100 3-wire with XTR115. I'm not sure if it will work. Besides, where do I find model of these components for simulation on TINA or LTSpice?

  • Hello,

Unfortunately there aren't currently any official SPICE models for the XTR115/116/117.  However, I've attached a simple idealized model for the XTR117 that can be used to understand the basic functionality of the product.  The model doesn't include any accuracy information and should only be used to understand the basic connections to the XTR.

For a 3-wire RTD system you'll need a few current sources and some way to linearize the RTD voltage for the XTR inputs.  Consider using the XTR105 which includes the current sources and basic analog linearization engine that is meant for PT100 applications.
