what 's the meaning of small signal?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA163

Dear engineers,

When I read the INA163 datasheet,  I can't understand the Small Signal,  do you have any detailed explaination about it? Thanks!

  • Hi Jimmy,

The small-signal bandwidth here is the range of frequencies that is passed by INA163 with attenuation less than 3 dB. This means that the input signal undergoes very small percentage of variations of the full-scale bandwidth. Such signals have very low slew-rate distortion.

SO, small-signal bandwidth is generally the capability of INA163 to pass the signals, with very low slew rate distortion, without significant attenuation.
