Hi,

I am using INA226 on PCB along with MSP430 controller with I2C interface. I tried writing Perl scripts for the same and couldn't see any communication happening between them. I probed the SDA/SCL lines on both devices and it showed idle waveforms. I used 3.3k pullup resistors for the SDA/SCL of INA226. What could be the source of this problem and how to resolve it?

    Hi,

    INA226 is a slave device, which means it will not initiate a communication; rather it waits for commands from the master. In this case MSP430 is not issuing commands and that’s the reason why the bus is idle.

    I would check the controller setup, the bus should not be idle regardless INA226 is connected or not.
