Need Design guidelines

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA333

Hi

I am developing a simple weight scale using opa333 opamp. The requirement is to measure accurately weights as from 200 gms to 40 KG. I mean minimum weight that needs to be detected is 200 gms. And maximum is 40 kg. I have a load cell which gives an output of 2mv/v.

I have designed above application using pic 12f510, mplab icd 2 (incircuit debugger and programmer) and mplab -ide development environment from microchip.

I wanted to know what will be the equivalent micro-chip I can evaluate from TI. What are the debugger options

also what will be the best values of the opamp gain, the vref of the micro-controller ADC to make the above measurement possible.

The requirements of the micro-controller are as follows:-

  1. It should be low power device and low cost device - The application is intended to operate on battery which should last atleast for 6 months
  2. It should have atleast 6 i/os for indications.
  3. LCD is not required. - The outputs will be used to indicate whenever weight crosses certain level

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Suchitra
