Hi,
We are using a OPA 4170 opamp at the output of a DAC for amplifying and level shifting the DAC output. However, it is found that the 4170 fails frequently. The ouptut pins of the 4170 have been brought out on to headers for probing. These are not provided with any ESD protection. Could this be a reason for the opamps to fail.
I searched for opamps with internal ESD protection diodes. However, I could find such devices with ESD protection only for the input pins. Is it that the output pins are not affected by ESD?
Regards.
