INA226 Alert Pin At Power Up

I intend to use the INA Alert pin as a general purpose output to control an inrush limit bypass relay.

We'll configure the INA226 to detect under or over voltage and control the Alert output by setting the threshold very high or very low.

For this application, it's important that the Alert output behave predictably and cleanly at power up.

Is the Alert output guaranteed to remain inactive during and after power up until the appropriate internal registers are configured?

 

Also, please clarify the prior answer about maximum voltage on the Alert output.

Is the maximum voltage on the Alert output 5.5V independent of the voltage at VS?

Or is it 5.5V when VS is 5.0V?

    Sorry for the delay and I was training and vacation.

    On power up the Alert function will not be active as the default of Mask/Enable Register (06h) is all 0x0000

    7.6.7 Mask/Enable Register (06h) (Read/Write)
    The Mask/Enable Register selects the function that is enabled to control the Alert pin as well as how that pin
    functions. If multiple functions are enabled, the highest significant bit position Alert Function (D15-D11) takes
    priority and responds to the Alert Limit Register.

    Regarding the Alert Pin output voltage limitation I will need to wait to early next year when most of our designers are back from vacation.
